With her recent call up to the main roster, the long road to a major opportunity has been set for Tatum Paxley.
Her recent promos on WWE Smackdown has her trying to become allies of the very popular former Tag-Team Champions Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. While Bliss seems more ready to accept the odd, gothic-looking Paxley, Flair has been a bit more guarded.
Paxley made her Smackdown wrestling debut defeating ‘Michin’ Mia Yim. She followed it up with a tag-team victory with Flair over Fatal Influence teammates Laney Reid and Fallen Henley, the Tag-Team Champions. Paxley’s next match was with Bliss and Flair in a six-woman match against The Takeover, Jade Cargil, B-Fab and Michin on Sunday Night’s Main Event. This will be an opportunity of revenge for Paxley, Flair and Bliss against The Takeover’s jumped them after their victory against Fatal Influence.
The team looked sharp against The Takeover but they lost when Flair had Cargil set up for her Figure-8 leg-lock and Paxley had B-Fab in the same position. Flair looked very pleased with the moment, but B-Fab kicked out and knocked Paxley into The Queen which set her up for the pin by Cargil. It was Paxley’s first loss on Main Roster.
Paxley had no professional wrestling experience when she signed with the WWE in 2021. She had been a cheerleader and a powerlifting champion who’ve scored high on several tests the WWE gave their new recruits.
Her debut match came when she teamed up with Ivy Nile, also a former powerlifter, in a victory over Fallon Henley and Kayla Inlay. The team started off well, but several losses led Paxley to quit the team because she felt Nile had abandoned her.
She then changed her look and appearance to stalk Lyra Valkyria, who was then NXT Women’s Champion. Though Valkyria was wary, she accepted Paxley and began teaming with her and even challenged then champion The Kabuki Warriors, Asuka and Kari Sane in a losing effort. Paxley soon revealed that she was only Valkyria’s friend because she was a champion. This led to a feud in which Valkyria would be victorious.
Paxley would go though several allies like Wendy Choo, Gigi Dolin and Izzi Dame, but they would either turn on Paxley or leave WWE. Dame tried to recruit Paxley into her stable ‘The Culling’, but this led Paxley to her first title when she defeated Jacy Jayne for the NXT Women’s Title at Halloween Havoc 2025. Paxley lost the title back to Jayne because The Culling would turn on her. But at New Year’s Evil 2026, Paxley would defeat Dame for the North American Women’s title. Paxley lost the North American Title to Zaria on June 9th, but she had proved herself to a worthy champion.
Now Paxley is on Smackdown looking to advance her career. With Flair and Bliss as her allies, she can make the most of her hard-earned success. But how will things turn out with the tough loss on Sunday Night’s Main Event? Will Flair blame Paxley for the loss, or can they move on to another match with The Takeover? Will they set their sights on Fatal Influence’s title whom they already have a win over?
One thing we know, Paxley will work hard to make even a bigger mark on the main roster.
