Life is always busy. I can’t remember when was the last time I’ve heard a cricket, or any sound of nature, so I’ve decided to go for a garden walk this evening. As I was walking towards the garden, the cool wind welcomed me with a mellow tone from the trees. The leaves swaying to and fro like they are the strings of a harp that produce the melody of the music. I stood there amazed at how beautiful nature is. I thought I heard the trees whispering to each other in a language that civilization will never understand. Their language produces a hollowing echo that reminds me of the ancients. The trees were telling their stories through sibilant whispers that give a certain vibratory hum. The sound vibrates from one leaf to another, and from one tree to another, variegating its beauty and magnificence to me. It is not a very forceful sound. It tinkles as it travels swiftly and lightly, encompassing me with its harmony and resonance. When one tree sings, another tree will respond. Their rhythm was perfect till an unknown big bird suddenly descended from the sky and roosted on one of the trees, but here’s where the show begins…

The big bird has a loud and high-pitched voice, and she loves to sing. The big bird’s powerful voice brought a short interruption to the perfect harmony and rhythm of the trees and their leaves. Her loud, high pitch and fast tempo tell everyone that she is the queen of the singers, and this is her show time. The irregular and persistent buzzing sound by the hidden singers is a contrast to the big bird’s high pitch and loudness. The hidden singers’ monotonous sound makes them sound like the base singers of a choir, or the musicians who play bass in a symphony orchestra. Together, these three different groups of “singers” – the trees and their leaves, the big bird, and the hidden singers, combined regularity with irregularity, perfect rhythm with slant rhythm, fast tempo with regular tempo, high pitch with low pitch, and short and long intervals. They have given me a perfect symphony orchestra of nature. Nature is God’s wonderful orchestra and musical in play!
