The Wrestling Curmudgeon on Nikkita Lyons

With her victory over Wendy Choo at Evolve Succession III, Nikkita Lyons won her first wrestling title.

It was a long road for the muti-talented wrestler who debuted in 2019 in Women of Wrestling as Faith the Lioness, a wrestler who was also a pop singer.

After some success in WOW, she tried out for World Wrestling Entertainment in 2021 and was signed. She would take the name Nikkita Lyons and the sky seemed to be the limit for Lyons.

Lyons would gain several victories and would enter the 2022 Breakout Tournament, but she would have to withdraw because of an MCL tear and sprain. Lyons would return and enter in a tag-partnership with Zoey Stark, but she would suffer another injury. Lyons would attempt to return soon but, yet another injury would set her back in 2024.

Lyons would return yet again in September of 2024, this time with a heel turn for the first time in her career. But after a short time in NXT, she would join the Evolve brand now using a Guru gimmick and gain a follower in Sloane Jacobs. Lyons also retrained herself and lost weight even though there were calls for her to be released. Lyons and Jacobs made a run at Evolve champion Wendy Choo which ended with Lyons winning her first wrestling title ever.

Lyons bases her wrestling style on her judo training and power moves using strikes and kicks, and great flexibility which makes an exciting style. She also has unique wrestling outfits which only enhance her look. On top of that she also recorded her own theme song; ‘The Lyoness’ which plays every time she enters the ring. Heart of a lion, face of a doll is empowering to women. Time will only tell what kind of champion she will make as she splits time between NXT and Evolve.

As we have seen, Lyons can evolve and is a memorable personality.
